Level X by Thom Lloyd

The top-ranked drivers are global super-stars. After an indecisive grand slam tournament, the two rival finalists, Luce Baggio, the champion and Chris Foley, a qualifier, are recruited by a shadowy organisation to compete in a supposedly mythical ultra-game, known as Level X. It turns out to be a race against time, in a bid to foil a terrorist plot to detonate a nuclear bomb in a theme park.
